If it’s tax season, it’s Roth season. High-income earners can’t open Roth IRAs directly; but there’s a backdoor way in. Since 2010 Congress has allowed Roth conversions for all taxpayers, regardless of income, so high-income earners can get Roths by first opening a traditional IRA that’s nondeductible, and then later converting it to a Roth IRA.
